Located where the old route of Old Highway 24 crossed the Leaf River (about 200 yards east of the present Old Highway 24 bridge, one mile north of U.S. Highway 98), this vehicular bridge, built in 1907, consists of one "Pennsylvania through truss" span. This bridge was listed on the National Register on 16 November 1988, as one of the components of the "Historic Bridges of Mississippi," a thematic group nomination prepared by Jack Elliott, historical archaeologist of MDAH. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 4 August 1987. |
