Built about 1930, this bridge consists of two Warren polygonal pony truss spans. This type of truss bridge was commonly used in Mississippi during the early 20th century, but this is a rare surviving example. It was preserved by agreement with the Mississippi State Highway Department in 1983. This bridge was listed on the National Register on 16 November 1988, as one of the components of the "Historic Bridges of Mississippi," a thematic group nomination prepared by Jack Elliott, historical archaeologist of MDAH. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 4 August 1987. |
