Context/Comments
"Shadyside" is a square, hip-roofed Greek Revival porticoed cottage of brick construction. It has a hip-roofed distyle portico with fluted Doric columns. The house was built for Ralph North, attorney, circuit court clerk, legislator, circuit court judge, and author.

This building was individually listed on the National Register on 29 March 1979, and it was later included as element #479 in the Upriver Residential Historic District, which was placed on the National Register on 1 December 1983.
