The Rankin County Confederate Monument was erected in 1907.

It was listed on the National Register on 1 August 1997, as a component of the "Historic and Architectural Resources in Brandon, Rankin County, Mississippi," and it was later included as an element (#21) in the Downtown Brandon Historic District, which was placed on the National Register on 18 November 2010. It was included in the Save Outdoor Sculpture survey as # SOS-RAN-001.

Brief Description
A stone statue of a soldier standing "at rest" atop a tall sculptured obelisk-like shaft on a pedestal, on a stepped base.
