This was an unusually ornate Late Victorian Creole-type galleried cottage, probably built about 1900. Originally located at 262 Bayview Avenue, East (see 047-BLX-1713-MVD), it was moved to final location in April 1986. It was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina on 29 August 2005. It was individually listed on the National Register on 9 March 1990, but it was delisted from the Register on 16 July 2008 after its destruction. It had been designated a Mississippi Landmark on 28 March 1985, but its designation was removed on 8 October 2010. It is included in "The Buildings of Biloxi" (1976, p. 115; and 2000, pp. 94-95). |
