Context/Comments
Built in 1914, the former New York Hotel is a locally significant example of a Shingle style architecture. It is also historically notable because it is the best preserved building associated with the development of Fruitland Park, an early venture in establishing a northern farmers' community in the cutover timberlands of south Mississippi.

It was listed on the National Register on 8 April 1999.
