Context/Comments
One of the earliest fully developed and most prominent "suburban villas" in Natchez. In addition, the mansion is locally significant as the headquarters of the Federal Army during its occupation of Natchez. A two-story, hip-roofed, brick house with a Tuscan tetrastyle portico, Rosalie is a particularly fine example of the “Jeffersonian Classicism” mode of the Federal style.
