Built for William W. Worthington, this is one of the few antebellum houses left standing in the Mississippi Delta. It is an imposing, two-story, hip-roofed brick house with a double-tiered Italianate portico extending across three of the five bays of the facade.

It was listed on the National Register on 11 April 1972.

Exterior and interior color photos are included in "The Majesty of the Mississippi Delta" (2002) (pp.54-55). The house is also included in "Historic Architecture in Mississippi" (1973) (p.184-184), "Old Homes of Mississippi, Volume II: Columbus and the North" (1977) (p. 146), "Great Houses of Mississippi" (2004) (pp. 64-67), and "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p. 102, DR7).
