Begun in 1912 and completed in 1913 this building served as Meridian’s public library from 1913 until 1967. After the library relocated to a new building, the former Carnegie Library became the Meridian Museum of Art. It was listed on the National Register on 18 December 1979 as one of several historic properties listed at the same time under the heading of the “Historic Resources of Meridian” or the Meridian Multiple Resource Area (MRA). The building was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 8 January 1985. |
