Native of Quebec City, Canada, moved to New Orleans in 1900 to become secretray-treasurer of J.D. Connell Iron Works Co. He later became president of Standard Manufacturing and Contruction Co., at the same time practicing architecture independently, beginning in 1908. From 1910-1921, he was partners with PETER TORRE in NOLAN & TORRE, re-entering independent practice from 1921 to 1946. Served on the board of architects that designed the Mississippi Centennial Exhibition in Gulfport (1916-17). From 1925-1955, he also served as president of the Westwego Canal and Terminal Co., and he was eventually appointed as a consultant to the U.S. Dept. of Education. He was married to Olga Eugenie Marinoni, who died in 1935, and had four children. Beginning in 1946 until his death in 1969, he was senior partner in NOLAN, NORMAN, & NOLAN with Alexander W.
