| This fine two-story Greek Revival house with a monumental colonnade was built about 1855. It is included as a contributing element (element #25) in the Margin Street Historic District, which was placed on the National Register on 7 April 1988, as a part of the Grenada Multiple Resource Area. This house is included in "Old Homes of Mississippi, Volume II: Columbus and the North" (1977) (pp. 133-134, as the Townes House) and "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p.141, in the listing for Houses on Margin Street, NC3). |
