Context/Comments
Designed by R.H. Hunt & Company, architects, the former President's House (later the Alumni House, now the Ogletree House) was built in 1912.

This building is listed as an element (#23) in the University of Southern Mississippi Historic District, which was placed on the National Register on 10 March 2010. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 20 August 1986.

It is included in "The State of Mississippi – Historic Properties" (1982) (p. 7).

Historic Information
An addition to the house was made in 1963, consisting of an office area and file room at the rear. Also included in this project was the construction of a brick fence around the President's Home and new landscaping.
