Context/Comments
This school is architecturally significant in the history of the City of Hattiesburg because it is the largest and most sophisticated example of the "Jacobethan"/Tudor style in the city and is the only known design in the style by Robert Emmett Lee. Lee was Forrest County's foremost architect of the early twentieth century.

This building was individually listed on the National Register on 29 May 1987. It was later included as a previously-listed element (element #83) in the the North Main Historic District, which was placed on the National Register on 16 March 1993. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark 12 December 1986.
