Built about 1860, the Ailes House is a wood-frame galleried planter's cottage with a double-pile plan. The porch roof is not continuous with main roof. The house is notable for interior decorative painting. This house was listed on the National Register on 9 April 1991, from a nomination prepared by Mimi Miller.
