Designed by architect John Gaisford, this building was built in 1918 as the Paramount Theatre. In more recent years it has become a performing arts venue called the Larry Thompson Center for the Fine Arts. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1986. It is listed as a contributing element (element #632) in the Clarksdale Historic District, which was placed on the National Register in 2009.
