Context/Comments This house, which became the original building of Belhaven College in 1893, was a lavish High Victorian Italianate mansion. According to Sanborn maps, it was destroyed by a fire on 7 February 1895. This building is included in "Lost Landmarks of Mississippi" (2002) (pp. 33-35).
