Built as a recreational outbuilding for "Auburn," this structure is one of three surviving examples in the Natchez area of a free-standing building originally used as a billiard hall for a private estate. (The other two are the former billiard hall of "The Elms" and the billiard hall at the "Laurel Hill" plantation complex.) This building is an outbuilding associated with "Auburn, " which was designated a National Historic Landmark on 30 May 1974 and was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 5 January 1984. |
