Brief Description
This International-style hospital is t-shape in plan with a flat roof and emphasis on the horizontal. The building is 2 stories on a raised basement. The building is reinforced concrete construction with a yellow brick veneer. There is a brick smokestack at the northwest corner. The roof features a wide overhanging boxed eave. A flat concrete awning, or cantilever, separates the first and second floors. Windows are 2(horizontal)-over– 2(horizontal) double-hung metal sash. Some windows on the first floor are comprised of a fixed rectangular light with narrow 2/2 DH metal sash on either side. There are two primary entrances into the abandoned hospital. The first, located on the south elevation of the east wing features a single-leaf, metal-and-glass door flanked by sidelights with a single-light transom above. To the left is a modest concrete pilaster followed by a large, vertically oriented window. The entryway projects slightly from the wall. A flat metal awning extends above the entrance. Concrete steps and flooring are surrounded by a metal railing. The other primary entrance is located on the north elevation of the north wing. This entryway projects slightly from the façade with a two-leaf metal-and-glass entry door and wide transom that extends.
