Built in 1928, the Lamar Life Annex is a two-story addition to the Lamar Life Insurance Company. It faces Capitol Street on the east side of the Lamar Life Building.

As a part of the Lamar Life Building, it is considered to be listed as a part of a contributing element (element #5) in the in the Smith Park Architectural District, which was placed on the National Register on 23 March 1976.
