| Designed by architect N. W. Overstreet, the Choctaw County Courthouse was built in 1941-42 under the auspices of the WPA. It is an austere Art Moderne building of poured-in-place concrete construction. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 30 October 1998. This building is included in "Mississippi Courthouses, Then and Now" (1987) and "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p. 196, CH8). |
