This two-story brick building was built in 1935 to serve as the City Hall for Shelby and the meeting place of the local Masonic lodge (Shelby Lodge No. 478, F&AM). (It was built on the site of an earlier brick commercial building which has also served as the Masonic hall.) In 1999 this building was being used by the Shelby Police Department.
