Context/Comments
Built for William W. Worthington, this is one of the few antebellum houses left standing in the Mississippi Delta. It is an imposing, two-story, hip-roofed brick house with a double-tiered Italianate portico extending across three of the five bays of the facade.

Exterior and interior color photos are included in "The Majesty of the Mississippi Delta" (2002) (pp.54-55). The house is also included in "Historic Architecture in Mississippi" (1973) (p.184-184), "Great Houses of Mississippi" (pp.64-67), and "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p.102, DR7).
