Bethany Presbyterian Church, built about 1855, is a well-preserved and relatively rare surviving example of an architectural form that was widely used for rural churches in Mississippi in the 19th century – a gable-roofed, simple rectangular building with two entrances in the front-facing gable end. This type of church building was constructed in Mississippi from the 1820s into the 1910s. This building was listed on the National Register on 23 June 2003. It is included in "Historic Churches of Mississippi" (2007) (p. 27). |
