Context/Comments
The Tippah County Courthouse is an eclectic building with Classical and Mediterranean Style elements that was built in 1928. Its most distinctive features are the sculpted figures of World War I soldiers standing atop columns in front of the arched entrance loggias on the east and west fa├žades. It was designated as a Mississippi Landmark in 1996. It is listed as a contributing element (element #1-a) in the Ripley Historic District, which was placed on the National Register in April 2005.
