| The Tate County Courthouse, built in 1875-76, is one of Mississippi’s most prominent and distinctive early post-Civil War public buildings. Its architectural character is largely High Victorian Romanesque Revival, but it exhibits several other stylistic influences. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1984 and was listed on the National Register in 1994 (as a component of the Senatobia Multiple Property Submission). This building is included in "Must See Mississippi" (2007) (pp.130-132) and "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p.142, NC6). |
