Designed by the Chicago-based architectural firm of Burnham & Root, this depot was built in 1888 for the Kansas City, Memphis, and Birmingham Railroad, which later became a part of the St. Louis and San Francisco ("Frisco") Railroad. This building was demolished in 1972.

It is included in "Historic Architecture in Mississippi" (1973) (p. 141).
