Context/Comments
This former residence with picturesque Gothic Revival and Eastern Stick Style features was built about 1876-80 as the Rectory for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. It is most notable as having been the childhood home of playwright “Tennessee” Williams.

It was originally located at 318 College Street [2nd Avenue South] where it was element # 247 in the Columbus Central Commercial Historic District; it was moved to its present location in 1995, and was individually listed on the National Register in 1996. It now serves as the Welcome Center for Columbus.
