An elegant hip-roofed, wood-frame Greek Revival cottage with a hip-roofed Doric tetrastyle portico sheltering the center bay of the five-bay façade. It was restored and enlarged (at the rear) by Bill and Nancy Howard in the early 1990s (Michael Collins, contractor). The restoration was Certified Rehabilitation project. The house was featured in 1999 on the Mississippi segment of the TV program Restore America. The house was designated a Mississippi Landmark, at the request of the owners, on 18 May 2017. It was approved for nomination to the National Register on 21 September 2000 from documentation prepared by Bill Howard, and listed on the National Register on 29 November 2000. |
