Brief Description
Two-story, brick commercial building (first story painted brick)on a corner lot with a flat roof w/clay cap. A chamfered entryway faces the intersection and consists of an arched transom set over a rectangular transom and wooden, half-light, double-leaf doors behind wooden screen doors. A two-story wooden balcony spans both facades and is accessed on the second floor by wooden, double leaf doors set below a rectangular transom set within a segmental arch. The balcony is carried on round iron posts with Corinthian inspired capitals on the first floor while square wooden posts support a corrugated metal shed roof on the second story. A balustrade with square wooden balusters runs the entire balcony on both facades. The first story – South façade- consists of 10 bays (w-dd-w-w-dd-w-dd-w-w-w), all of which have a segmental arch transom above (some obscured by wood). The windows are square, plate glass display windows with rectangular bulk-heads. The doors are wooden, half-light, double-leaf doors with a rectangular panel below. The first story – East façade – consists of 4 bays (w-w-w-d). The first window matches that of those on the South façade. The middle windows are smaller windows with a segmental arch, positioned level with all transoms on the façade. The door is a wooden, 5-panel door with a segmental arch transom above. The second-story consists of 15 (Ten on the south and five on the east) 1/1 wooden windows with a segmental arch lintel. A pressed metal dentil cornice runs both facades. Below the cornice, intermittent saw tooth bands of brick-work are set above the balcony’s roof in-line with each bay.
