The Cox-Uithoven House, also known as “Cedar Ridge” and “Bryn Bella,” is notable as an outstanding example of the Greek Revival style as it was interpreted in northeastern Mississippi. Unlike most of the major antebellum residences in the Columbus area, which were built in town, this house was built on a plantation. It is also distinctive for its unique floor plan and detailing. It was listed individually on the National Register on 8 May 1980.
This house is included in "Reflections: Homes and History of Columbus, Mississippi" (2001) (pp. 88-89). |
