One of four antebellum Natchez townhouses with a double-front-gallery, side-hall plan, the Tillman House is the surviving third of a row of connected dwellings, a form of construction that has all but disappeared from Natchez. This building was individually listed on the National Register on 7 April 1979, and it was later listed as element #190 in the Natchez-on-Top-of-the-Hill Historic District, which was placed on the National Register on 17 September 1979. It is included in "Natchez Walking Guide" (1985) (p. 18). |
