Built circa 1836, the Boyd-Cothern House is one of two pre-Civil War dogtrot houses in Lawrence County. It was listed on the National Register on 29 September 1980 as a component of a "thematic" multiple property group called the "Folk and Vernacular Thematic Resources of Lawrence County." This house is included in "Pioneer Places of Lawrence County, Mississippi" (1981) (p. 18). |
