Context/Comments
Designed by architects C.H. Lindsley and Frank Fort, the Threefoot Building was constructed in 1929-30. It is one of Mississippi’s three notable Art Deco skyscrapers. The other two are the Standard Life Building (Tower Building) in Jackson and the Plaza Building in Jackson. The Threefoot Building was listed on the National Register on 18 December 1979 as one of several historic properties listed at the same time under the heading of the “Historic Resources of Meridian” or the Meridian Multiple Resource Area (MRA). It was later included as a previously-listed element (element #136) in the Downtown Meridian Historic District, which was placed on the Register in 2007. The building was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 10 June 2008.

The Threefoot Building is included in "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p. 218, EM15).
