The Lamar Hotel was built in 1927. It now contains county government offices. It was individually listed on the National Register on 18 December 1979 as a component of the “Historic Resources of Meridian” (Meridian MRA). It was later included as a previously-listed element (element #122) in the Downtown Meridian Historic District, which was placed on the National Register in 2007. The building was designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1988. This building is included in "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p. 214, within the listing for the Lauderdale County Courthouse, EM7). |
