This site consists of the remains of a fishweir, constructed of rocks, that was built sometime between the 1870s and the 1930s, most likely between the late 1890s and the 1910s. A fishweir is a structure, built in a stream of water, that is intended to direct fish into a net or fishtrap. It was listed on the the National Register on 15 August 1997, from a nomination prepared by MDAH archaeologist John Connaway. |
