| Designed by William S. Hull, this eclectic Classical Revival courthouse was built in 1907. It is one of several courthouses in Mississippi and surrounding states whose designs exhibit the "Old Capital portico motif" (a colonnaded, pedimented portico atop an arcaded entrance loggia, projecting from the central mass of the building). This building was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 10 April 1986. It was was listed on the National Register on 10 November 1994. The courthouse received a 2002 Community Heritage Preservation Grant of $150,000. |
