Context/Comments
The Farmers and Merchants State Bank was the second bank established in Ocean Springs. A pharmacy was opened in the south half of the building in 1918 and operated there until 1930. The bank building also housed City Hall from about 1930-1941.

This building was individually listed on the National Register on 20 April 1987, as a component of the Ocean Springs Multiple Resource Area, from a nomination prepared by MDAH architectural historian Brian Berggren. It was later included as a previously-listed element (element #437) in the Old Ocean Springs Historic District Boundary Increase, which was added to the National Register on 2 June 2014.
