Context/Comments
Built in 1859, this is a one-and-a-half-story wood-frame house that has a broad flat-roofed projecting portico sheltering three bays of the five-bay façade. It originally had a hipped roof, but it was altered after a fire about 1929.

The house was individually listed on the National Register on 15 July 1986, as a component of the "Raymond and Vicinity Multiple Resource Area" (Raymond MRA), and it was later included as an element (#20) in the Raymond Historic District, which was placed on the National Register on 27 July 2007.

It is included in "Buildings of Mississippi" (2020) (p.278, at the end of the listing for the Gibbs-Von Seutter House, JM75).
