Context/Comments
Jackson Infirmary was organized in 1916 and began operation in a residence on Fortification street. It moved to President Street in 1919. In 1924 another institution, Jackson Sanitarium, consolidated with it and a new wing was added to the President Street facility. The infirmary was sold to the Order of Dominican Sisters in 1946. It was superseded by St. Dominic's Hospital, which opened in 1954. This building was evidently demolished about 1955. It was located on the site now occupied by the parking garage behind the Plaza Building.

This building is included in "Jackson (Images of America)" (1998) (p. 49) and "Chimneyville: 'Likenesses' of Early Days in Jackson, Mississippi" (2007) (p. 172).
