| Built in 1917, Big Black River Railroad Bridge is one of only two known concrete open-spandrel arch bridges in Mississippi, and it is the larger and more impressive of the two. It was listed on the National Register on 16 November 1988, as one of the components of the "Historic Bridges of Mississippi," a thematic group nomination prepared by Jack Elliott, historical archaeologist of MDAH.
