Comments:
This district is significant as an architectural ensemble which documents the development of the lumber industry in east central Mississippi. Its buildings, primarily in the various classical revival, Shingle, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival and Craftsman styles, document the first great period of prosperity, that of the 1893-1937 timber era, for this Mississippi region. The earliest surviving buildings date from 1900.
