Koch, Richard (b.1889 - d.1971)
Architect, New Orleans, LA
Native of New Orleans and graduate of Tulane, spent two years in Paris and worked for several years in New York before returning to N.O. to practice there. Spent the 1920s as partner in Armstrong & Koch and worked on the restoration of Shadows-on-the-Teche. During the Depression, he headed the Louisiana HABS team. Between 1935 and 1955, he practiced independently, forming a partnership with SAM WILSON, JR. in 1955, as KOCH & WILSON. He was noted for his work in preservation and restoration and was an active member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. See Poesch and Bacot, Louisiana Buildings, p. 350-352.
