Context/Comments
This house was individually listed on the National Register on 21 November 1986 (as an addition to the “Historic Resources of Bay St. Louis,” a group nomination submitted in 1980). The house was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina on 29 August 2005. Following its destruction it was delisted from the National Register on 16 July 2008.
Brief Description
One-story, five-bay wood-frame pyramidal cottage with rectangular plan. Composition shingle siding. Hipped roof with boxed eaves and clapboard siding. Centrally located brick chimneys. Full-width recessed porch is screened and has three-bays supported by large decorative wood box columns. Behind porch there are five asymmetrical bays (W-W-W-D-W), with plain surrounds. Windows are casement behind shutters. Door is casement with transom.
