Designed by architect N. W. Overstreet (who also designed the nearby Choctaw County Courthouse), the Choctaw County High School building was built in 1941 under the auspices of the Public Works Administration (PWA) as Project Miss. 1156. It is a two-story Modernist building of poured-in-place concrete construction. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 19 June 2018.
