Built in 1874, “Stanhope” is a small but exuberantly detailed Italianate house of wood-frame construction. It is listed as a contributing element of the Carrollton Historic District, which was placed on the National Register in 1978. The building was designated a Mississippi Landmark, at the request of the owner, in 2004.
