Context/Comments
Built about 1849, the Hopewell Presbyterian Church is an rare surviving example of a double-entrance, gable-front rural church from the middle to late 19th century. Vernacular wood-frame churches with double entrances, once common for small rural Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterian congregations, have mostly been lost to neglect or alteration.

This building was listed on the the National Register on 15 July 1999, from a nomination prepared by consultant Joan Embree.

It is pictured in "Thy Dwellings Fair: Churches of Saint Andrew Presbytery" (2000).
