Context/Comments
The Shadows, before it was demolished in December 1986 by Magnolia Federal Bank, was the best surviving example of Queen Anne architecture in Greenville and was one of the few remaining houses in the community dating from the nineteenth century. Distinguished by a variety of forms, an irregular plan and exuberant detailing, The house was designed and erected for a prospoerous turn-of-the-century family.

It had been listed on the National Register on 24 November 1982, but after having been demolished, it was delisted in 1987.
