This bridge consists of one brick arch span. Although this type of bridge was relatively common throughout the United States during the early 20th century and earlier, this is the only known extant example in Mississippi. It was designated a Mississippi Landmark on 28 September 1987. It was listed on the National Register on 16 November 1988, as one of the components of the "Historic Bridges of Mississippi," a thematic group nomination prepared by Jack Elliott, historical archaeologist of MDAH.
