A wood-frame vernacular galleried cottage. Has a two-room core, each room having a door to the gallery, with rear cabinet rooms. The house is associated with August Mazique, who probably resided in this house as a slave, and who, after emancipation, purchased the property, and went on to become one of the major land owners in Adams County. This house was listed on the National Register on 7 April 1982, with 228 acres of land. It is included in "Classic Natchez" (1996) (pp. 148-149). |
