Historic Information
Originally planned as a municipal waterworks plant, plans were expanded to include a new city hall for Moss Point. It is believed to be the earliest waterworks building remaining on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The building is constructed with structural steel and pressed brick, and was built by C.J. Montgomery & Co. of Kaplan, LA. Construction of a municipal waterworks represents the coming of modern utility systems to cities on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the 1920's.
