This is a one-story, brick, three-bay early 20th-century public building with a gable front roof. All three-bays are infilled with wood planks; the center bay infill has a metal door with nine fixed lights and a ribbon of four 6/6 aluminum sashes. Decorative features include brick pilasters and a stepped parapet. The structure has a continuous concrete foundation, brick cladding and an asphalt shingle roof. |

Originally planned as a municipal waterworks plant, plans were expanded to include a new city hall for Moss Point. It is believed to be the earliest waterworks building remaining on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The building is constructed with structural steel and pressed brick, and was built by C.J. Montgomery & Co. of Kaplan, LA. Construction of a municipal waterworks represents the coming of modern utility systems to cities on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the 1920's. |
